WHEN LIFE GIVES U LEMONS...

when life gives u lemons, you draw them!

soooo we were told to bring interesting fruits and vegetables for this class, so i brought things like lemon slices, broccoli, bitter gourd and cut up bell peppers. i ended up using lemon slices! initially, i thought it'd be a mark making activity because that's what we did in the previous class but we ended up drawing instead (oops? i think i'm not the only one who had that thought, right?) (moral of the story: don't assume haha)

what we were supposed to do is pick one amongst the many fruits/vegetables we brought (i picked lemon!) and that we had to draw the fruit/vegetable in various ways using different mediums. some of the various ways we drew it are in realistic form, with our eyes closed, using dots/circles only, using contrasting colour, using basic shapes, turning it into a pattern, drawing it inside out and lastly draw using our non-dominant hand.

i'd say that drawing with my eyes closed and using my non-dominant hand to draw are the methods i enjoyed most throughout this activity. mostly because i don't know where it would lead me to and it gets me more excited to see the results.

this activity helped show me that drawing something doesn't only take one perspective and method. realistic drawing isn't the only style there is to it. that's also how people develop their art style: by experimenting and using different methods and materials, looking at it at a different angle, and so on. there's just so much to learn and try.

note to self: "the sky's the limit"
