there are 3 types of signs: icon, index and symbol

icon: visual representation of concept

index: indicator of concept

symbol: code for the concept

here's the signs i did that relates back to my topic on the relationship between love language and attachment styles :-) i'm still confused on which goes under which category. & my interpretation is definitely not 100% right........but nonetheless it was very fun to draw them! this activity helped me to understand the 3 types of signs better

🌹a little insight:

for my icons i drew icons of direct & common things that speak about love such as the word "LOVE", a heart shape, present, silhouettes of a couple, gift card and more.

for my indexes, i drew icons that are less direct, such as the love letter which represents words of affirmation, and the hand holding up a heart to represent acts of service, the bouquet of flowers to represent a loving gift.

for my symbols, i included the male and female symbols that intersect to represent relationships (platonic or romantic), cupid's bow, doves which are the symbol of love, chocolate dipped strawberries because it's a well known valentine's gift and also strawberry is considered the symbol of Venus, the goddess of love, because of its bright red colour and enticing taste.
