claymation

for this week's class, we were told to bring clay and a tripod stand for the stop motion workshop!

during this workshop we learned a few animation principles, which are:

1. Squash and Stretch: this technique makes the object longer/flatter to show the flexibility and also stiffness of an object

2. Anticipation: this is used to build up a moment for the audience to anticipate the character's next movement and also to make the movement more realistic

3. Slow In and Slow Out: this method is when a character does something and it starts slow and ends slowly to make the action look more realistic and less mechanical

4. Arc : this helps make the character's movement look more believable

to help us make the stop motion video, we downloaded the stop motion studio app!!

attached below are the videos teng, azizah and i did together:

i won't be using stop motion for my animation but it's interesting to learn all the principles so that i can apply it when i draw my animation digitally :-) it helps make the animation look smoother and less stiff
