Theme 1 / What do you enjoy?
- watching netflix shows
- watching ted ed videos because learning about mundane things is fascinating
- rewatching my favourite films and shows
- going for exhibitions, mainly art exhibitions
- spending time with family n friends
- designing/illustrating things that i find value in my life
Theme 2 / What do you fear?
- my work being mediocre, i do not want it to be forgotten easily
- not getting validation from people i value
- meeting new people, i'm not exactly the best when it comes to socialise
Theme 3 / What do you want from the course?
- gaining practical skills that allow me to get a job
- learning how to survive in the working world
- teaching me to improve as a designer i aim to be
- keeping up with design trends
Theme 4 / What can you offer the course?
- my curiosity to learn
- my perspective/interpretation on topics
Theme 5 / Where do you want to be/what do you want to be doing two years from now?
tbh it may only be 2 years which is 24 months, i cannot see that far ahead.
but if it were up to me,
- continue and expand my business
- accept commissions and do freelance design works
- collaborate with local brands
- being part of a local art collective
- work on personal projects and eventually hold my own exhibition/be a part of a group exhibition
Theme 6 / Which designers / illustrators provide a context or inspiration for the type of work you want to do?

- an artist and author
- his design and illustration embraces the world with backhanded optimism and a dark sense of humor - hopeful but realistic.
-i love that his art brings a lot of advice and motivation yet it's not exactly all rainbow, it has a sense of reality.

Theme 7 / What current issues might graphic designers need to focus on or address?
- climate change (it’s becoming more prominent in the last few years and it should be taken more seriously)
- human rights such as gender equality and human trafficking (always important to talk about because it affects all of us knowingly and unknowingly)
- wellbeing (as the pandemic goes on, many people struggle to find balance in their work and personal lives)
Theme 8 / How would you define bad design or illustration?
- when the message of the design doesn’t get conveyed/understood by the audience
- when design elements that don’t mush well together are put together
- when design principles are not applied correctly (hierarchy, colour palette, layout)
- using inappropriate typeface (a fun type used for a formal context)
